Aerobic exercise program for people getting breast cancer treatment

This Phase 2 study tests whether a supervised aerobic (cardio) training program can improve health and exercise capacity for people receiving treatment for primary breast cancer. You may join if you currently do very little moderate-to-vigorous exercise and can safely complete a special treadmill test that measures breathing and heart response.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and identify as female
  • You have been diagnosed with primary breast cancer (confirmed by tissue testing or standard scans)
  • You are scheduled to receive breast cancer treatment (before or after surgery) that includes medicine and/or local radiation/therapy
  • You currently do 90 minutes or less of moderate or hard exercise per week
  • You agree to follow all study steps and appointments
  • You can complete a treadmill breathing/heart test (CPET) safely and reach an acceptable effort level
