Who can take part

  • Have had a living-donor kidney transplant and be over 19 years old
  • Have low iron stores: ferritin under 700 micrograms per liter
  • Have low iron availability: TSAT under 40%
  • Do not have active infection at the time of starting the study
  • Do not have certain blood cancers or blood disorders causing anemia
  • Not be HIV-positive, and avoid significant liver enzyme elevation (ALT/AST more than 3 times normal)
