Glue to prevent bloodstream infections from IV lines

Who can take part

  • Your child is in a pediatric cardiac ICU (special heart ICU)
  • Your child is considered high-risk for a line-related bloodstream infection based on one of several factors (like age under 1 year, higher surgery risk scores, long pre-op stay, being on a ventilator before surgery, certain genetic conditions, or needing ECMO)
  • Your child does NOT currently have an active bloodstream infection (ongoing bacteremia)
  • Your child does NOT already have a central line or a PICC line in place
  • You (a parent/guardian) are willing to participate in the study
