  • You are African American and age 18 or older
  • You are interested in quitting smoking
  • You smoke at least about one pack per day and have for over a year
  • You have smoked on 25 or more days in the past month
  • You can take study medicine for 6 months and attend all study visits, and you have a phone and home address
  • You have not used other stop-smoking medicines in the last 30 days
