Compare early versus late eating times for teen obesity

This study tests whether having a shorter daily eating schedule earlier in the day works better than a later eating schedule for reducing weight and improving health in teens with obesity. Participants will also follow planned fasting (not eating) periods and complete regular check-ins.

Who can take part

  • You are 12 to 21 years old and have obesity (BMI above the 95th percentile).
  • You can follow the study schedule, including assessments and planned eating/fasting times.
  • Your usual eating pattern leaves more than 12 hours between your first and last meals each day (an eating window over 12 hours).
  • You do not have Prader-Willi syndrome, a brain tumor, or serious intellectual disability.
  • You have not had bariatric (weight-loss) surgery and are not currently in another weight-loss medication or intervention study.
