Who can take part

  • You have Parkinson’s disease, based on standard specialist diagnostic rules
  • Your brain/nervous system exam should not clearly show cerebellum-type problems (balance/coordination or certain eye movement issues)
  • You should not have certain specific eye movement problems related to vertical gaze control
  • You should not have early frontotemporal dementia or primary progressive aphasia (within the first 5 years)
  • Parkinson-like symptoms should not be limited to the lower legs for more than 3 years
  • You must not have been likely misdiagnosed—other causes of “parkinsonism” should not explain your symptoms more than Parkinson’s
