Who can take part
- Be under 18 years old
- Weigh more than 10 kilograms
- Be a child who is intubated (has a breathing tube), or needs intubation, and the tube has a cuff
- Need a central venous line placed in the upper-body veins (the superior vena cava area)
- Usually must not have certain breathing-device issues (like a leak in the mechanical ventilation)
- You (or your legal guardian) must be able to provide written informed consent
