This study follows people with early psychosis, or a high risk of developing psychosis, to better understand brain and symptom changes over time. It may help future prevention or treatment by comparing brain/clinical measurements between people who are at risk, recently affected, and healthy controls.

Who can take part
- You have a recent psychosis-related diagnosis or recent drop in functioning (within about 3 years), or you’re considered “at high risk” for psychosis
- If in the “high risk” group: a structured interview must show you meet specific psychosis-risk criteria
- You should not have another main mental health problem that better explains your symptoms (for example bipolar disorder, major depression, or autism)
- You should not need daily anti-anxiety medicine (benzodiazepines) for most days during testing and be able to stop if required for the study procedures
- You must be able to do study testing, including MRI (no metal in the eye/implants, and not overly claustrophobic during scans) and speak Swedish well enough to consent
- You must not have certain medical issues that affect the brain or tests (for example major brain injury/conditions, recent serious infections, recent high radiation exposure, or pregnancy/breastfeeding)
