Who can take part

  • You are having your first episode of psychosis (such as schizophrenia or delusional disorder).
  • You have started taking antipsychotic medication less than 4 weeks ago.
  • You do not have another major mental health condition that better explains your symptoms.
  • You have no serious physical illness, brain injury, or history of seizures.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
  • You have no metal in your body and are not claustrophobic in MRI machines.
  • You do not have a current substance use disorder (nicotine use is okay).
  • You are not taking blood-thinning medication within 2 weeks of certain procedures.
  • You have not donated blood or plasma recently.
