Who can take part
- Be 18–75 years old and sign a consent form to join
- Have recurrent acute or chronic pancreatitis that is not from gallstones or certain other causes (like autoimmune or medication-related)
- Be able to take pills by mouth and agree to follow all study visits for the study duration
- You must not have had any pancreatic surgery in the past
- Do not use any statin medicines (including simvastatin) for at least 6 months before joining
- If you could get pregnant: use very effective birth control during the study and for 1 month after the last dose (and not be pregnant)
