Cholesterol medicines after stent: combo pill vs single pill
Treatments studied
Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This trial compares two cholesterol-lowering treatment plans after a heart procedure where new drug-eluting stents were placed: a combination of high-intensity statin plus ezetimibe versus high-intensity statin alone. It may help find which option lowers cholesterol more effectively and safely over the first year after the procedure.

This study compares two ways to lower cholesterol and stabilize artery plaque in people with coronary artery disease who are having a stent procedure. It tests whether a moderate statin plus ezetimibe works as well as a high-intensity statin alone for stabilizing plaque.
This trial compares a lower-dose cholesterol pill (rosuvastatin plus ezetimibe) to a higher-dose version of just rosuvastatin for people with mild to moderate heart artery blockages who have not had a stent or bypass. It aims to see which approach works better and is safer.
This study compares two cholesterol treatment approaches after a heart attack: a lower dose combination versus a higher dose single medicine. It aims to see which option works well and is tolerable for people after a treated heart attack.
This study tests a single pill that combines two cholesterol-lowering medicines (pitavastatin and ezetimibe). It may be a good fit if you already take a statin or a statin plus ezetimibe and your doctor wants to adjust your treatment.
This study compares two different ways of lowering cholesterol: a moderate statin (pitavastatin) plus another drug (ezetimibe) versus a stronger statin alone. The goal is to see which approach is safer regarding the risk of developing new diabetes.
This trial studies whether high-intensity statin plus ezetimibe can improve heart health in people who do not have symptoms but have calcium buildup in their heart arteries. It may help lower cholesterol and reduce future heart risks for the right participants.
