Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a heart catheter procedure (coronary angiography or PCI) through your wrist (radial artery)
  • Your Allen’s test is positive (your hand blood flow is adequate for a wrist procedure)
  • You are willing and able to sign informed consent
  • Your wrist artery does not have a structural abnormality (no radial artery malformation)
  • Your kidney function is not severely reduced (eGFR 30 or higher)
  • You do not have serious liver disease (cirrhosis) and your blood clotting function is not abnormal
