Who can take part

  • You are having a planned gynecologic surgery through a midline incision (a laparotomy).
  • Your surgery will be under general anesthesia and include thoracic epidural pain medicine.
  • Your overall health level is ASA I to III (generally healthy to moderately healthy).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 35.
  • You must agree to take part in the study.
