Who can take part

  • You are scheduled to receive spinal or epidural anesthesia for surgery, labor, or pain management.
  • You have no history of allergic reactions to medical adhesives used during epidural placement.
  • The skin where the needle goes in is healthy, without cuts, rashes, or infection.
  • You can speak and understand English.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is at least 18.5.
