This study tests whether giving one dose of chemotherapy placed directly into the bladder after a diagnostic bladder/urinary scope (URS) can help people with a localized upper urinary tract cancer (UTUC). It may help reduce cancer coming back, alongside standard post-scope care.

Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have localized UTUC (cancer mainly in one area, not spread to distant sites)
  • Be able to start the plan: have URS first, then agree to the single chemotherapy dose placed in the bladder
  • Not be on any cancer treatment medicines for other cancers at the same time
  • No bladder cancer in the past 5 years, and no bladder removal surgery (radical cystectomy)
  • Not be pregnant, and have an expected lifespan of at least 1 year (and you should have two functioning kidneys, not only one)
