Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and currently in a hospital unit for blood cancers or marrow aplasia
- Your platelet count is moderately low, around 10 to 100 (10 billion to 100 billion) per liter
- A doctor has ordered a platelet transfusion to treat active bleeding
- Your platelet count is not extremely low (it must be at least 10)
- You do not have special rare platelet problems that require matched (HLA/HPA) platelets
