Platelet transfusions in ICU patients with low platelet counts

Thrombocythemia

Part of Blood & lymphatic clinical trials.

This trial tests whether giving platelet transfusions to critically ill patients with very low platelet counts helps prevent bleeding. If you are in the ICU with low platelets and need life support, this study may be relevant to you.

NCT07682246Not yet recruiting
Platelet transfusion study for ICU patients

This trial tests how a platelet transfusion affects blood vessel function in intensive care patients with low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia). It may help doctors understand if transfusions help the tiny blood vessels work better.

Paris
NCT06805097Recruiting
Platelet transfusion for low platelet counts in blood cancer patients

This trial tests how well platelet transfusions work for patients with blood cancers or bone marrow failure who have very low platelets and need a transfusion. It aims to see if the transfusions help control bleeding and improve outcomes.

NCT07230067Recruiting
Sepsis with low platelets: platelet transfusion study

This study looks at whether platelet transfusions help patients with sepsis and very low platelet counts recover better. If you or your loved one had sepsis, a low platelet count, and were in the ICU for at least two days, this trial may be relevant.

NCT04555785Recruiting· Phase 4
Testing platelet treatment in ICU patients after surgery

This trial studies whether a platelet-related treatment can work better in people in the ICU who need a platelet transfusion after surgery. It may help reduce bleeding by improving how platelets work when certain blood clotting proteins are already high.

Basel
NCT07653672Not yet recruiting
Bleeding risk test for patients with low platelets

This study uses a special blood test to create a score that predicts bleeding risk in patients with blood cancers and very low platelet counts. It could help doctors decide if you need extra care to prevent bleeding.

NCT06095648Not yet recruiting
Comparing platelet transfusion volumes in premature babies

This study is testing whether giving smaller volumes of platelet transfusions to premature babies with very low platelet counts is as effective as the standard larger volume. It aims to find a safer way to prevent bleeding while reducing risks like fluid overload.
