Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have ulcerative colitis (UC)
  • You had UC surgery that removed the colon (total proctocolectomy) and created an ileal pouch (IPAA)
  • You have chronic pouchitis that fits one of these: antibiotic-dependent (can’t stay off antibiotics), antibiotic-refractory (antibiotics don’t help), or Crohn’s-like pouch inflammation with ongoing treatment and persistent symptoms
  • Your current symptoms match the trial’s symptom severity score (mPDAI) requirements doctors use
  • You are not allergic to vancomycin or metronidazole, or to ingredients used in the transplant
  • You do not have active infection/fever and you are not currently on certain immune medicines, steroids, or other investigational drugs
