Testing a mouth test on biopsy samples from abnormal lesions

This trial looks at archived (saved) mouth biopsy samples to see how well the STRATICYTE™ test can identify potentially dangerous “pre-cancer-like” changes. It may help doctors screen or better understand which abnormal areas in the mouth later turn into oral cancer.

Who can take part

  • You have an archived mouth biopsy tissue block kept at the same clinic center
  • The original biopsy showed abnormal (dysplasia) changes in the mouth lining, or suspicious abnormal cells
  • There was at least 5 years of follow-up for people who did not develop oral cancer
  • Or, there is evidence that oral cancer (OSCC) later developed (documented or confirmed by pathology)
  • The abnormal biopsy must not have already been accompanied by oral cancer at the time (or cancer progression within 3 months)
