- You are 18 years or older
- You have a clinician diagnosis of moderate to severe traumatic brain injury
- Doctors placed an internal brain monitoring device (invasive intra-cranial monitoring)
- You are able to enroll within 48 hours after starting ICU care
- Your ICU stay is not only for comfort/palliative care or organ donation decisions
- You don’t already have an advanced care directive or prior wish to not be in research
