Who can take part

  • Plan to have general anesthesia (you will be fully asleep for the procedure).
  • Your BMI is between 33 and 43.
  • You have type 2 diabetes based on specific blood sugar test results (including HbA1c and/or an oral glucose test).
  • You can understand the study and sign informed consent.
  • You are not pregnant, and if you can become pregnant you must use reliable contraception for 2 years.
  • You have no prior bariatric surgery and no major recent abdominal surgeries within the last 3 months.
