Who can take part
- Be age 6 to under 18, with a parent/guardian consent and child agreement (if appropriate)
- Plan to follow all study visits and instructions on schedule
- Have alopecia areata for at least 6 months, with fairly heavy scalp hair loss (at least 50%)
- Have signs of allergy/immune activity, such as high IgE (≥200) and/or a personal or family history of allergic conditions
- Females who could become pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test and use reliable birth control during the study and for 28 days after the last dose
