Spa therapy for radiation-related skin fibrosis after cancer

Who can take part

  • Be an adult age 18 or older
  • Have had radiotherapy at least 6 months ago (unilateral breast radiation for breast cancer)
  • Have cancer types the study is looking at: breast cancer or upper head/neck (upper aerodigestive tract) cancer
  • Have moderate or worse quality-of-life impact from symptoms (DLQI score 6 or higher)
  • Have radiation-related skin or soft-tissue toxicity at least mild/moderate (CTCAE grade 2 or higher) with no active flare of inflammation/infection
  • Be able to safely take spa therapy (for example, no certain heart/lung problems or uncontrolled blood pressure; no active infections or acute inflammatory illness)
