Who can take part
- You are age 18 or older with an upper-arm bone shaft fracture that needs surgery using a rod inside the bone.
- You can sign a written consent form to join the study.
- You can attend all required study visits.
- Your fracture is a typical injury fracture, not a pathologic fracture (not caused by weak bone disease).
- You are not pregnant and you are not breastfeeding.
- You are not having revision (repeat) surgery for a previously treated humerus fracture.
- You do not have a serious unstable condition that could interfere with study assessment, and you do not have a new injury to the brachial plexus nerves at the time of enrollment.
