Who can take part
- You are age 18 to 60 and can give written consent
- You have a confirmed diagnosis of anorexia nervosa—restrictive type
- Your weight falls in the BMI range of 10 to 16 (very low), or you are a matched control with BMI 19 to 24.9
- You have not used antibiotics in the last 31 days
- You do not have certain serious medical problems (like severe kidney or liver disease, active cancer, or uncontrolled thyroid problems or high blood pressure)
- You are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding, and you can understand and follow study instructions
