Who can take part
- Be able to voluntarily sign and date the consent form
- Have type 2 diabetes and still have A1c above target despite diet, exercise, and metformin at the highest tolerated dose
- Your A1c at screening must be between 7.5% and 10.5%
- Your body mass index (BMI) must be 45 kg/m² or less
- Not be pregnant, nursing, or trying to become pregnant, and use reliable birth control if you could become pregnant
