Who can take part
- You are age 18–80
- You have an ASA health status of I to III (generally able to have anesthesia safely)
- You are having planned surgery: either bilateral deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s or another non-brain, non-heart surgery for non-Parkinson’s participants
- You have consented to take part in the study
- You do NOT have obstructive sleep apnea
- Your BMI is 30 or less, and your airway is expected to be manageable for anesthesia
