  • Your age is 50 to 80 years old
  • You are in ASA class II to III (a general health category used before anesthesia)
  • You have Parkinson’s disease and will receive DBS on both sides of the subthalamic nucleus (STN)
  • You can and will sign informed consent to join the study
  • You do not have certain health issues that could make anesthesia riskier
