  • Be a term or preterm newborn (baby born before or at full term)
  • A doctor must decide that the baby will need full life support during resuscitation
  • You must be present for the baby’s routine care at the resuscitation desk
  • Parents/guardians must give written consent for the study
  • The baby must not have a congenital malformation (a serious birth defect)
