Genetic testing study for breast cancer DNA repair changes

This study looks at which DNA “repair” gene changes are found in breast cancer patients, especially certain subtypes and high-risk situations. Your genetic test results may help researchers understand who has specific DNA repair pathway mutations and how they relate to breast cancer.

Who can take part

  • You have breast cancer confirmed by pathology (a tissue/biopsy diagnosis).
  • You fit at least one group: triple-negative breast cancer, age 50 or younger, male breast cancer, or certain personal/family cancer history.
  • You are HER-2 negative (either recurrent/metastatic or high-risk).
  • You have been (or plan to be) tested for germline and/or tumor (somatic) DNA repair gene mutations.
  • You can share your medical records and the results of DNA repair gene testing, and agree to longer-term follow-up.
  • Your study team can see your DNA repair gene testing results; you cannot be missing those results.
