Who can take part
- Have a confirmed diagnosis of small cell lung cancer from tissue (biopsy) or fluid (cytology) tests
- Your cancer is “limited stage,” meaning it’s confined to one side of the chest (about half the chest) and fits in one planned radiation field, without malignant fluid around the lungs/heart
- You must have had no prior full cancer treatment, except you already completed 2 cycles of etoposide plus cisplatin or carboplatin induction therapy
- Be 18–75 years old, and able to expect survival of more than 3 months (and weigh over 30 kg)
- Blood counts and organ function must meet targets (white blood cells, neutrophils, hemoglobin, platelets; and kidney/liver blood tests within allowed ranges)
