  • Child is age 8–12 at the start of the study
  • Child identifies as Black/African-American and/or Latino
  • Child’s body weight falls at or above the 5th BMI percentile (healthy through obese)
  • You have reliable internet access and a phone for texting
  • Parent/guardian can read and speak English (or Spanish) and is the main food helper for the child
  • Child can join study conversations and be comfortable using electronic devices
