- You are planning bariatric (weight-loss) surgery because your BMI is very high (BMI > 40) or BMI > 35 with a complication that surgery may improve
- You can use effective birth control during the study (and it may be adjusted around surgery)
- You can give informed consent (and are not under special legal or psychiatric conditions that prevent consent)
- You are not pregnant, and you are not breastfeeding
