Cholestyramine to lower stored pollutants in obese women

  • You are a woman aged 18 to 45
  • You are planning bariatric (weight-loss) surgery because your BMI is very high (BMI > 40) or BMI > 35 with a complication that surgery may improve
  • You can use effective birth control during the study (and it may be adjusted around surgery)
  • You can give informed consent (and are not under special legal or psychiatric conditions that prevent consent)
  • You are not pregnant, and you are not breastfeeding
