Who can take part
- Your child has anemia caused by chronic kidney disease at stage 3, 4, or 5
- Kidney function should be low enough (or if on dialysis, be eligible by the study’s CKD stage rules)
- Hemoglobin (Hb) blood count must meet the study’s limits based on whether the child already takes an ESA medicine
- Iron levels must be adequate (either ferritin over 100 or transferrin saturation over 20%)
- Liver blood tests (ALT/AST and bilirubin) must be within allowed limits
- Either the child is already on a stable ESA medicine, or has not used ESA recently (or was stopped long enough ago)
