Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of MDS from a bone marrow sample taken within the last 3 months.
  • Your MDS should be at a low or intermediate risk level, not high risk.
  • You need to have needed at least 4 units of red blood cell transfusions in two 8-week stretches.
  • You must have already tried or not be able to take standard anemia drugs called ESAs.
  • You should be able to do daily activities with little to no help (able to care for yourself and do light work).
