Who can take part
- You are over 18 years old and can give informed consent
- You have had relapsing or repeat peritonitis within about 4–12 weeks after finishing antibiotics, with the same germ as before (or bacteria still growing after the usual 2-week antibiotic course)
- Your peritoneal infection symptoms improved after the standard antibiotics, and your catheter fluid white blood cell count is under 100 per cubic millimeter
- The current infection is bacterial (not fungal and not mycobacterial)
- You do not have an exit-site or tunnel infection, and your Tenckhoff catheter is draining normally
