Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older and have end-stage kidney disease needing hemodialysis.
- Use a catheter (a tube in a vein) for chronic hemodialysis—either a cuffed or uncuffed CVC.
- Be able to understand the study and sign written consent.
- You must not have a known allergy or intolerance to beta-lactam antibiotics or clindamycin.
- You should not currently have an active infection that is being treated with antibiotics.
- You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding during the study; if you could become pregnant, you must use approved birth control starting at least 1 month before and during the 6 months of treatment.
