This Phase 2 trial studies whether adding capecitabine to pembrolizumab after surgery can lower the risk of cancer coming back in people with triple-negative breast cancer that didn’t fully respond to earlier treatment. It’s meant for patients whose tumor was removed but still showed remaining cancer after chemo-immunotherapy.

Who can take part

  • Be at least 18 years old and able to sign study consent (or have a trusted written proxy if you can’t)
  • Have triple-negative breast cancer where HER2 is negative and ER/PgR staining is under 10%
  • Have had surgery removing the breast tumor and any involved lymph nodes
  • Finish earlier treatment with pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy, and then have no full “pathology complete response” (RCB I–III allowed, not a complete response)
  • Have good recovery and strength for treatment (ECOG score under 2) and blood/organ tests within the last 28 days
  • No spread to other organs on scans or exams before starting this trial
