PET/MRI scan for certain breast cancer types

This trial is studying if a special PET/MRI scan using a tracer called 18F FES can help doctors decide the best treatment for people with Luminal A or hormone-receptor-positive lobular breast cancer. The scan looks at estrogen receptors to see if your cancer might respond to hormone therapy.

Who can take part
- You are a woman aged 18 or older.
- You have been diagnosed with breast cancer that has not spread far (primary or locally advanced) and is either Luminal A or a type called lobular that is ER-positive.
- You are scheduled to have surgery as your first treatment, regardless of whether cancer is in your lymph nodes.
- Your cancer is ER-positive and HER2-negative, and has a Ki-67 score greater than 10%.
- You are not pregnant and do not have any condition that would prevent you from having a PET or MRI scan, such as claustrophobia, severe kidney problems, or an allergy to MRI contrast dye.
- Your tumor is not ER-negative (does not lack estrogen receptors).
