Who can take part

  • You have had low back pain for at least 6 months.
  • Your average pain in the last week was 3 or more on a 0–10 scale.
  • Your back pain is not caused by another condition like a herniated disc or prior surgery.
  • You have not had spinal manipulation therapy in the past year.
  • You are not pregnant, and do not plan to become pregnant in the next 12 months.
