Who can take part
- You have liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) that has been confirmed by a doctor through imaging or a biopsy.
- You have not received any previous treatment for your liver cancer.
- Your tumor(s) are located in only one side of your liver (left or right lobe), and may involve a nearby branch of the portal vein or hepatic vein.
- Your liver function is good (Child-Pugh Class A) or you do not have cirrhosis, and you are generally active (able to care for yourself).
- You must be able to undergo a specialized radiation procedure called SIRT (selective internal radiation therapy) after a thorough evaluation.
- If you have hepatitis B or C, you need to be on appropriate treatment to keep the virus under control.
