Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • Your lung cancer must have an EGFR mutation (exon 19 deletion or L858R) and cannot be cured by surgery or radiation.
  • You must be able to get around and take care of yourself (ECOG score 0 or 1).
  • Your blood counts, kidney, and liver function must be within certain safe ranges.
  • You cannot have had certain other cancer treatments within a few weeks before starting this study.
  • You must not have unstable brain metastases, serious heart problems, or other uncontrolled illnesses.
