- You have stage IIIB or IV non-small cell lung cancer.
- Your tumor has an EGFR mutation (exon 19 deletion or exon 21 L858R).
- You have not had any previous cancer treatment for this condition.
- You are able to take care of yourself and are not bedridden (ECOG score 0-2).
- You can swallow pills, and blood tests show your organs (bone marrow, liver, kidneys) are working well enough.
