Brain stimulation for nerve pain after spinal injury

Neuropathic Pain Management

This study tests whether a gentle electrical current applied to the scalp can help relieve nerve pain that continues after an injury to the spinal cord, arm or leg amputation, or brain injury. Participants will continue their usual pain medications during the trial.

Who can take part

  • You have nerve pain that started after a spinal cord injury, amputation, or brain injury.
  • Your pain has lasted more than 3 months.
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have been on the same dose of pain medication for at least 2 weeks.
  • You do not have metal implants, a pacemaker, or need extra oxygen.
