This study is testing two new blood tests (cathepsin S and chromogranin A) to see if they can detect early kidney damage in people with type 2 diabetes. It may help doctors find kidney problems sooner.

Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
- Your urine shows a normal or increased amount of protein (albumin).
- Your kidney damage is not caused by another condition (like high blood pressure or a genetic disease).
- You do not have type 1 diabetes.
- You do not have certain other health problems (liver disease, heart failure, thyroid problems, autoimmune disease, active infection, cancer, or a urinary tract infection).
- You are not pregnant.
