Who can take part

  • You must have a type of cancer called gastrointestinal neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC), which includes a mix of NEC and other cancer cells (MiNEN with NEC). Other types of NET (neuroendocrine tumors) are not eligible.
  • You should not have had any prior chemotherapy or targeted therapy for advanced or metastatic cancer. If you had chemo or chemoradiation for early-stage cancer (neoadjuvant/adjuvant), it must be at least 6 months since then and your cancer has now returned or spread.
  • You must be physically active enough to perform everyday tasks without assistance (ECOG 0 or 1).
  • Your blood cell counts and liver/kidney function need to be within certain limits (your doctor will check this).
  • You cannot have an active autoimmune disease (like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's), active infections (like hepatitis B, C, HIV, or TB), or any history of lung disease like pulmonary fibrosis or interstitial pneumonia.
  • Women and men must be willing to use effective contraception during and for a period after treatment.
