Who can take part

  • You are an older adult (exact age not specified in the criteria given).
  • You do not have rheumatoid arthritis or other inflammatory arthritis.
  • You have not had a steroid joint injection in the last 3 months.
  • You have not had knee or hip surgery in the last 6 months, and do not plan any in the next year.
  • Your diabetes (if you have it) is well controlled.
  • If you have high blood pressure, dizziness, or chest pain with activity, or use a walking aid, your doctor must give approval.
