This study tests a new bioresorbable scaffold (like a temporary mesh) that slowly dissolves, releasing medication to keep your below-the-knee artery open. It is for people with severely blocked leg arteries causing pain or wounds at rest (Rutherford 4 or 5).

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 to 90 years old.
  • You have chronic limb-threatening ischemia (severe leg pain or wound at rest) rated as Rutherford category 4 or 5.
  • The narrowing in your leg artery below the knee must be new or restenosed (not a previously placed stent) and at least 70% blocked.
  • The artery being treated must be 3.0 to 3.5 mm in diameter, and the total length of all blockages treated cannot exceed 11 cm.
  • You cannot have had a prior stent or bypass in the target artery, and you must not need a major amputation on the treated leg.
  • You must be willing to have follow-up visits and angiograms (x-ray dye tests) for at least 12 months.
