  • Your veins are hard to see or feel (a score of 4 or 5 on the vascular access scale).
  • You do not have limited movement in your elbow.
  • You do not have a condition that makes it hard for you to understand or make decisions about the study.
  • You do not have any skin problems at the arm where the IV would be placed.
