Deep brain stimulation for movement problems in children with cerebral palsy

Who can take part

  • You must be between 7 and 25 years old at the time of surgery.
  • A pediatric neurologist has diagnosed you or your child with dystonic or choreoathetotic cerebral palsy, with a clear history of lack of oxygen to the brain.
  • You or your child have tried oral meds for movement issues, but they didn't help enough.
  • You are able to attend follow-up visits for brain recordings and testing.
  • You are not pregnant, do not have uncontrolled epilepsy, or other serious medical risks for surgery.
